Thonglor: The Finest District

Translated in English, Thonglo means “molten gold”.  True enough, the street is a melting pot of the newest and hippest luxury bars, restaurants, and fashion retail stores.

The street runs from the Thonglor BTS Station north towards Petchaburi road. This means the area is easily accessible via Bangkok’s Skytrain. If you want to avoid road traffic, you can also travel to other districts of Bangkok through the Khlong Saen Saep express boat located near the Phetchaburi road intersection.

With so many lifestyle services and amenities, it is little wonder Thonglor has gained its reputation as a prime residential location.

We present to you our top food picks for you to spend an entire Amazing day in Thonglor.

Breakfast Top Picks

“One should not attend even the end of the world without a good breakfast.”

Maison Eric Kayser

Over the years, Maison Kayser has gained a reputation for producing the very finest quality bread, pastries, cakes, and cookies.

Eric Kayser, known for his signature Baguette Monge (B80) and croissant (B60), is the fourth generation of a family of bakers and has opened more than 110 outlets worldwide in little over a decade. Expect varieties of bread, croissants, pastries as well as sandwich and light meals.

Address: 103 Thonglor Between Soi 3-5, Bangkok, Thailand

This ultra healthy organic cafe and juice bar does brekkie, as the name implies, but also a lot more. Vegans and health lovers will feel right at home at Brekkie.

Address: Soi Promsri Sukhumvit 39

Roots Coffee Roaster Bangkok

Straight up good coffee served whichever the way you want it. Many say they have the best coffee in Bangkok. One of Bangkok’s most popular hipster café nestled in an equally hipster Thonglor district.

Address: Unit #T1 (Roast), The COMMONS 335 Thonglor Soi 17, Sukhumvit 55 Klongton Nua, Wattana, Bangkok 10110

Lunch Top Picks

“Ask not what you can do for your country. Ask what’s for lunch”

Khua Kling + Pak Sod

Khua Kling Pak Sod is a small and barely visible restaurant but consistently packed on weekends. This is one of the few places in Bangkok serving authentic southern cuisine. Not your usual Thai fare but some deliciously fierce specialties for those who like it really hot.

Address:98/1 Soi Thonglor 5, Sukhumvit 55 Rd

Tum Thonglor

Tum Thonglor served high end Isaan cuisine. One look at the menu and things seem mouth-wateringly promising, too, thanks to the eponymous Tum Thonglor tray (B485): spicy papaya salad with salted egg, a large grilled river prawn, moo yor (Vietnamese pork sausage), crispy pork skin and naem (fermented pork meat).

Address: Tum Thonglor, 2/F, The Taste, Thonglor Soi 11, Bangkok, Thailand

Dinner Top Picks

“My favorite thing is to have a big dinner with friends and talk about life”

Supanniga Eating Room

Supanniga Eating Room is a place where friends and family have joined together to create an ideal eating spot right in the heart of the city that still shares authentic and savory Thai foods.

The Thai food is unique and some of the dishes are not found in other Thai restaurants.  The ingredients are the best around.  The food is very flavourful and the service is very friendly & attentive.  The prices are also reasonable.  A nice addition to the Thonglor food scene.

Address: 160/11 Soi Sukhumvit 55 (Thonglor) Klongton Nuea, Watthana,  Bangkok 10110

Maison De La Truffe

Setting a culinary milestone in Bangkok’s restaurant scene is the opening of Maison de la Truffe, Paris’ long-established fine-dining restaurant with 84 years of history.

The Bangkok venue is the brand’s first and only location outside France. To ensure top quality truffles, the Bangkok joint, similar to its Paris restaurants, uses the fungi (fresh or preserved) from only three places — France, Italy and Australia.

Address: 129, Soi Sukhumvit 55 (Thonglor 9), Sukhumvit Rd., Khlong Tan Nuea, Watthana, Bangkok 10110 Thailand

4 Garcons

The name means four young guys in French. 4 Garcon is decorated beautifully in the purple color theme, looking very French and luxurious.

Prices for food and wine are reasonable, making this restaurant great value for money. It has a nice and cozy atmosphere with an outdoor area. Service is friendly and professional.

The pastry menu is just as exciting with a great wine selection list.

Address: 4 Garcons, 1/F, Oakwood Residence, 113 Thonglor 13, Bangkok, Thailand

Yours Sincerely,
