This has got to be the best Nasi Lemak I have ever had in my life thus far.
Head over to Damansara, Kuala Lumpur and check out Village Park Restaurant.
All thanks to my friend Kevon who recommended this place to me. He told me the owner is a Peranakan, so I suppose the food here does have Peranakan influence in one way or another.
It’s an addictive mix of coconut rice, sambal, Ikan Bilis (fried anchovies), peanuts, cucumber, and boiled egg.
That Ayam Goreng was magical – so crunchy and full of flavor! The chili has a sweetness to it but it’s nevertheless spicy. Eat it with a mouthful of the fragrant coconut rice and a dash of the crunchy anchovies.
Do also try out their signature white coffee. It is aromatic and has a nice bittersweet aftertaste. You would expect ice coffee in Malaysia to be overly sweet but it’s not the case over here.
Highly acclaimed place. This is heaven for fried chicken and nasi lemak lovers. You will not regret it.
