I’m an avid lover of Bak Chor Mee a.k.a minced meat noodles. This is a local Chinese noodle dish that can be found in almost every food court or coffee-shop.
But.. not all Bak Chor Mee are created equal….
When one mentions Bak Chor Mee, Michelin Starred Hill Street Tai Hwa Pork Noodle will immediately come to mind. For those who love the soup version, you can have your fix at the equally famous Bedok 85 Bak Chor Mee.
To make a supreme bowl of Bak Chor Mee, the quality of the noodles, handling of the pork and blend of sauce has to be done to perfection.
1 year ago, I happen to chance upon Ah Hoe Mee Pok and I rate it one of the best Bak Chor Mee I have ever tasted.
What’s interesting is that the stall is run by a Japanese who learned and perfected cooking mee pok from a local hawker.
The stall serves several variations from ramen fusion style to mee pok with crayfish. Or you may simply opt for the mince meat mee pok at just $4 a bowl.
The noodles have just the right bite, generous servings of ingredients and the soup is super yummy.
Be prepared for 30-40 minutes wait during lunch hour.
Verdict: Die Die Must Try
