Bangkok is one of Singapore’s favourite holiday destination. If you have been to Bangkok, you most probably would have visited CentralWorld. It is located next to Chidlom BTS Station and just next to Siam Paragon. It is an exceptionally large shopping center encompassing shops that cater to just about any type of shopper. In the past, you had to travel away from CentralWorld to get to places where you could end the day with an ice cold beer and some music. However, CentralWorld has come up with a section to cater to this particular need. They call is GROOVE @ CentralWorld.
Located on two levels, it is sandwiched in between the shopping center and office section. It is exceptionally clean, the ambiance is nice and welcoming and the food is relatively inexpensive.
I visited Wine Connection on the first level and it was a very nicely renovated. It looked really upscale and thus I was pleasantly surprised when I saw that the prices were relatively cheap. In general, mains are in the region of about SGD$10-15 after service charges and taxes.
The food was good. The Duck Confit was delicious. The Hawaiian Pizza was exceptionally crispy. The Lasagna was more than decent. Anyway, this is a mere fraction of what I would have to pay if I had such a meal in Singapore. The thing about a place like this is not about the food but more about the ambiance. This is a really good place to sit and unwind after a hard day of shopping.
Bangkok just got a lot more appealing.
