Tired of the usual hangout spots in Bangkok and wish to visit somewhere a little bit different and less touristy?
Especially if you love cute dogs and cats, take a day during your Bangkok trip and check out Central Festival Eastville. Central Festival Eastville is not accessible by train. The nearest station is Ladprao and you have to take a taxi over. Just use Grab, it’s very easy.
Unless you are a foreigner staying for an extended period in Bangkok, you probably will not know or even think about going to this place.
It is a huge mall with a lot of familiar international brands such as Breadtalk, Ippudo Ramen, Maisen, H&M, etc.
1 place worth a special mention is the Think Space B2S. It is a gigantic concept bookstore with co-working space, board games cafe and more. You can spend an entire afternoon in there by yourself or with your friends over coffee and games. It was featured heavily in the media when it opened.
The unique thing about this mall is that it is pet-friendly. I was there on a Sunday afternoon. The mall was packed with locals and a lot of them are there with their dogs and cats. You are able to walk the pets in the mall and there are even carts for you to rent for your pets!
The mall is made up of a lot of unique green open spaces. It was well cooled despite the sweltering Bangkok heat. There is a jogging track at the top of the mall but I did not have the chance to check it out due to rain. I heard from my friends that it is very popular with the locals and many will run there in the evenings.
