Breakfast In HongKong Like The Locals! Legendary Beef Egg Sandwich, Silky Smooth Beancurd and Michelin Guide Chee Cheong Fun

I had a great morning enjoying breakfast in Sham Shui Po, Hongkong just like the locals.

Sham Shui Po is easily accessible via the MTR and it’s pretty much a local area, with old buildings all around. These 3 places that I have visited are all highly recommended places to visit for foodies. I think there are so many good foods in Sham Shui Po, you can do a food trail here!

It was a Saturday morning and it was bustling with activities when I was there. The locals were all over, doing their marketing and having breakfast.

新香園(堅記) is definitely a must visit. This unassuming local HK cafe serves the best beef and egg sandwich. Ask for the bread to be toasted. This cafe is open 24 hours so you can come here in the middle of the night as well. (Address: 38號 Kweilin St, Sham Shui Po, Hong Kong)

Hup Yik Tai Cheong Fun 合益泰小食 is another stall nearby that gets a queue of people waiting to have their daily fix of chee cheong fun (rice rolls). They do sell a variety of items such as porridge, soya bean milk, etc. But what they are famous for has to be the chee cheong fun. (Address:
Hong Kong, Sham Shui Po, Kweilin St, 121號號)

Last but not least, end the morning on a sweet note by visiting Kung Wo Dou Bun Chong 公和荳品廠. The soya beancurd is freshly made, it’s fragrant and silky smooth. Combine it with the crunchy granular orange sugar, the morning is made perfect.

I can see many residents coming by to purchase freshly made toufu. Their fish meat siew mai and fish meat beancurd is nice too!
